Job description
The Assistant Manager – Business Support role in Sharjah focuses on supporting corporate banking activities by maximizing the efficiency of the Business Support Unit (BSU). The role includes operational and administrative responsibility for timely delivery of services, implementation of procedures, and maintaining internal controls related to corporate back-office operations. Key functions involve coordination with CAD, TFD, Legal, and Sharia departments to minimize turnaround times on customer documentation and deal bookings. The role also contributes to regulatory compliance by ensuring accurate responses to CBRB and AECB inquiries and supporting ICCS clearing activities. The position requires readiness to act as backup for BSU team members, oversee operations in the absence of the BSU Manager, maintain high ethical standards, and participate in migration of transactions to automated channels to reduce operational expenses.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with support services (CAD, TFD, Legal, Sharia) to ensure efficient handling of customer documentation and deal bookings
- Prepare document lodgment sheets, security documents, and ad hoc reports for corporate banking operations
- Perform ICCS clearing for CBG within stipulated timelines
- Verify customer security documents, communicate discrepancies to Relationship Managers, and ensure complete submissions to CAD/Legal/Mortgages departments
- Respond to CBRB inquiries and process AECB completed inquiries received by RM/RO
- Act as backup for all BSU team members by learning their responsibilities and assuming duties when required
- Maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, and positive relationships with colleagues and other departments
- Support the migration of transactions to automated channels to minimize operational expenses
- Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department
Experience & skills
- University graduate
- Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or corporate banking operations
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic
- Proficiency with basic MS Office applications
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Knowledge of corporate banking operational processes and regulatory requirements
- Ability to take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the BSU Manager
