Job description
The Senior Technician - Electrical Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) role is a technical leadership position within The Red Sea Utilities Company (TRSUC), a subsidiary of Red Sea Global (RSG) delivering integrated utility services including renewable energy, water desalination, wastewater treatment, district cooling, telecommunications infrastructure, and off-grid clean energy systems aligned with Saudi Arabia Vision 2030. The role is part of the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) in-house operations and management team and is responsible for advanced installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, testing, and maintenance of Electric Vehicle Charge Points and associated electrical systems. The technician leads technical field operations ensuring all EV charging infrastructure meets strict electrical codes, safety protocols, and quality standards while supporting sustainable and regenerative tourism destinations such as The Red Sea Project and Amaala. Responsibilities include advanced fault diagnosis, analysis of complex technical issues, implementation of corrective solutions, remote diagnostics, and minimizing site visits through system monitoring integration with network management platforms. The role requires supervision of junior technicians, on-the-job training, task allocation, workflow management, performance review, and technical guidance to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance. It involves maintaining comprehensive technical documentation including maintenance logs, installation records, incident reports, inspection certificates, and asset inventory. The position ensures adherence to preventive maintenance schedules, supports periodic electrical testing and certification in line with industry standards, and ensures compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The technician also interfaces with EVCI network management systems to monitor charger performance, detect faults proactively, and ensure maximum uptime. Additionally, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies, suggesting enhancements, participating in technical reviews, and contributing to knowledge sharing. Strong communication skills are required to coordinate teams, report technical findings, and translate technical issues into actionable insights for management. The role plays a critical part in ensuring reliability, safety, and performance of EV charging infrastructure in large-scale sustainable utility environments supporting national energy transition goals.
