Job description

This role provides end-to-end strategic legal counsel and support to Mastercard’s Consumer Products and Processing, with emphasis on issuer-processing and pre-paid management services. The mandate covers collaborating with business teams to bring consumer products to market, structuring and negotiating commercial agreements with acquirers, issuers, merchants, payment service providers and ecosystem partners, advising on product development and contractual issues, and coordinating across data privacy, intellectual property, anti-trust, regulatory affairs, public policy, franchise, and services business lines. The position requires working with internal and external regulatory counsel to ensure compliance with laws and government regulations affecting Mastercard’s consumer products. The role includes monitoring legal and regulatory trends that may impact product strategy, implementing process improvements, supporting global and regional product initiatives, developing project plans, trackers, and training materials, and providing training to internal stakeholders. It also requires contributing to broader Core Payments legal team projects and ensuring adherence to Mastercard’s information security requirements, including confidentiality, integrity of data, and mandatory security training obligations.
