Job description
Bentley WaterCAD, WaterGems, Hammer and WANDA are the everyday tools for this Abu Dhabi design role, which builds hydraulic models for pressure networks on Parsons wet utilities projects. Collection, conveyance and disposal networks are designed independently, along with water supply systems such as treatment, pumping and intake structures. Load demand calculations for large private developments and government projects feed the designs, as do utility cross sections prepared to RTA, DMT and MOMRA requirements. Authority rules from DEWA, ADDC/ADWEA, DM, ADM, DCD and ADCD shape the work, together with British and American codes. NOCs and design approvals are obtained through direct liaison with service providers. Specifications, design reports, O&M manuals and RAM and safety analyses are prepared here, and supplier data and shop tests are reviewed. CAD Designers and Drafters take input from you, and 3D modelling in Civil 3D is part of the job, with Dynamo, Python, OpenRoads, OpenUtilities and GIS skills a bonus. Leading and mentoring other engineers, estimating budgets and staffing, and travelling to supplier, client or site locations are expected. A civil engineering degree and 8 to 12 years of water, wastewater or wet utilities design experience are required, ideally including UAE work.
