Job description
The Team Leader – Credit Cards Personal Loans role within Mashreq Retail Banking Group operates in a call center sales environment and is responsible for managing a team of approximately 12 sales agents focused on credit card acquisition and balance-building activities. The role drives monthly sales targets through direct sales channels, develops and executes sales strategies, ensures effective lead utilization, and maintains high productivity, service standards, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. The position involves close collaboration with Sales Development, Product, Compliance, Training, and MIS/Reporting teams, active performance monitoring through KPIs and reports, recruitment and certification of sales agents, and continuous improvement of sales processes based on market trends and customer insights.

Key responsibilities
- Manage a team of sales agents to achieve monthly credit card acquisition and balance-building targets
- Develop and implement sales strategies, objectives, and challenging performance targets
- Ensure effective utilization, allocation, and monitoring of sales leads
- Track daily sales activity, productivity, and conversion rates to drive performance
- Develop and refine sales pitches and objection-handling techniques
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and appraise sales team members through structured feedback and MBO reviews
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, risk, and compliance standards while maintaining service quality
- Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Recruit, train, certify, and retain direct sales agents to build a high-performing team
- Collaborate with Sales Strategy, Product, Compliance, Training, and MIS teams to align field activities
- Handle real-time problem resolution, customer issues, and crisis management
- Recommend process, product, and procedural improvements through root cause analysis
- Make decisions related to sales strategy, lead quotas, workforce scheduling, shifts, breaks, and leave management
Experience & skills
- Hold a university degree
- Possess 3–5 years of experience in a similar supervisory sales environment with at least 3 years managing people
- Demonstrate experience in retail banking sales, preferably with a practical marketing background
- Exhibit strong knowledge of credit card and personal loan sales processes
- Show capability in performance monitoring, KPI analysis, and sales reporting
- Operate effectively within regulatory, risk, and compliance boundaries
- Demonstrate analytical and computer skills relevant to sales operations
