Job description
The role oversees delivery of complex audit engagements for EY MENA’s Dubai Audit team, defining audit strategy with Directors and Partners and executing it under Ernst & Young policies and protocols. Responsibilities include leading full or partial audit teams, executing complex audit procedures, managing financial aspects such as staffing and fee tracking, participating in business development initiatives, and maintaining high-quality client deliverables. The role requires building and strengthening internal and external relationships, anticipating and escalating risks, fostering a positive learning culture, coaching and mentoring junior staff, supporting recruitment, retention, and training initiatives, and contributing to the development and maintenance of internal educational programs. It operates within EY’s globally connected assurance environment, leveraging data, AI, and advanced technology and adhering to international audit standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities
- Manage delivery of audit engagements by defining audit strategy with Directors and Partners and executing it according to EY policies and protocols
- Execute complex audit procedures personally when required and lead full or partial teams on engagements
- Manage financial aspects of engagements including staffing, fee tracking, and communication of issues to project leaders
- Participate in business development initiatives to support growth
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external client relationships to ensure high-quality work delivery
- Anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues appropriately
- Create a positive learning culture by coaching, supervising, and mentoring junior team members
- Contribute to recruiting, retaining, and training Assurance professionals
- Support maintenance of educational programs to enhance staff skills
Experience & skills
- Minimum seven years of professional external audit experience
- Strong academic record with a full-time bachelor's degree
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, or CPA
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred
- Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate effectively
- Proactive, accountable, and results-driven approach
- Business-savvy mindset with interest in innovation and strategic vision development
