Job description
The Head of Asset Management Section will lead and govern the Asset Management and Reliability framework within a petrochemical/oil & gas environment in Rabigh. The role is responsible for aligning asset strategies with corporate objectives and ISO 55000 standards, ensuring asset reliability, integrity, lifecycle optimization, and operational excellence. This leadership position oversees technical governance for critical equipment failures, reliability events, and improvement initiatives while managing multidisciplinary teams and departmental resources. The role demands deep technical expertise in reliability methodologies, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across asset management processes and systems.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the Asset Management Section, ensuring full alignment with corporate Asset Management Strategy and ISO 55000 principles while governing reliability and integrity frameworks.
- Provide technical governance for critical equipment failures, major reliability events, and Root Cause Analyses (RCA), ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Develop and implement long-term asset strategies covering reliability, lifecycle cost optimization, replacement planning, asset integrity, and performance enhancement initiatives.
- Oversee reliability methodologies including RCM, RBI, FMEA, RAM modelling, and reliability analytics to optimize equipment strategies and minimize operational risk.
- Identify, analyze, and report KPIs related to asset health and potential failures, ensuring proactive mitigation of risks impacting production and safety.
- Lead asset performance reviews, continuous improvement programs, and technical standardization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, engineering standards, safety policies, and internal governance frameworks across all asset management activities.
- Manage departmental budgets, manpower planning, contractor performance, and capability development to build a high-performing asset management function.
- Foster strong collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and HSE departments to ensure integrated support for asset reliability and business continuity objectives.
- Represent the department in ROC, RSC, and other key communication forums, providing strategic insights and technical leadership to senior management.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 20 years of technical experience in engineering within petrochemical or oil & gas industries, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
- Deep expertise in ISO 55000 Asset Management standards, Reliability Engineering, Asset Integrity, and Maintenance Strategy development.
- Advanced competency in RCM, RCA (TapRooT), FMEA, RAM modelling, and RBI methodologies with proven application in large-scale industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of CMMS systems (SAP preferred), lifecycle cost modelling, and KPI-driven performance management frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing multidisciplinary teams, resolving complex technical issues, and driving measurable performance improvements.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), and ISO 55000 Asset Management Certification (Practitioner or Lead Auditor) are highly desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and governance skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Leadership or management certifications preferred, with a proven track record of strategic planning, change management, and continuous capability development.
