Job description
The Associate Director – Private Banking at Emirates NBD will manage a portfolio of high-net-worth clients with assets under management (AUM) between USD 100 million and 350 million. The role is responsible for revenue generation across net interest income (NII), fee-based income, and investment advisory services. The Associate Director will drive asset growth, build strong client relationships, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory frameworks. This is a high-impact, client-facing role requiring strong market expertise, financial acumen, and a proven track record in private banking and wealth management.

Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients with total AUM ranging from USD 100 million to 350 million.
- Generate annual revenue between USD 1.5 million and 4 million across NFI and NII.
- Acquire new clients with annual net new money (NNM) targets of USD 40 million to 75 million.
- Grow the lending portfolio (Lombard lending and other loans) by USD 5 million to 20 million annually.
- Drive revenue generation through investment products, FX, and structured solutions.
- Provide holistic investment advice and portfolio management aligned with clients’ financial goals and risk appetite.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, AML, KYC, and internal banking policies.
- Collaborate with product specialists to deliver customized wealth management and investment solutions.
- Maintain deep market knowledge to inform clients on global investment opportunities and market developments.
- Contribute to business planning, financial target setting, and strategic growth initiatives for the Private Banking division.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services, including at least 5 years in private or wealth banking within Middle Eastern markets.
- Strong knowledge of investment products, capital markets, and portfolio management principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of AML, KYC, and compliance regulations.
- Proven ability to achieve sales and AUM growth targets while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Experience structuring credit and lending solutions for private clients (Lombard lending).
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (Arabic, French, or Russian) are advantageous.
- Educational background in Finance, Economics, or related discipline; CFA or MBA preferred.
