Job description
The Qatar/Kuwait SME – Specialist Sales Division Lead reports to the East Arabia SME Division Lead. This position has no direct reports but requires operating at both a strategic and operational level. The role involves developing and executing an SME Sales strategy that maximizes revenue and profit for SME products across Qatar and Kuwait, managing a strategic sales pipeline, and driving growth in SME portfolios with financial and non-financial institutions. Responsibilities include identifying and converting new business opportunities, building SME ecosystems, and leading the commercialization of deals. The role also contributes to achieving SME P&L objectives, supports Mastercard East Arabia business goals, and provides subject matter expertise on SME payments and commercialization projects.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an SME Sales strategy maximizing revenue and profit for SME products across Qatar and Kuwait.
- Manage and execute a strategic sales pipeline to drive growth in existing SME portfolios across financial institutions and non-financial institutions.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities and develop ecosystems within the SME segment.
- Lead the commercialization of signed deals to ensure measurable revenue impact.
- Help achieve SME P&L objectives in the target markets.
- Support or lead regional Expert Sales initiatives aligned with Mastercard East Arabia business and revenue goals.
- Identify business and product innovation opportunities within SME payment segments.
- Provide subject matter expertise and end-to-end project management/delivery by liaising with cross-functional partners.
Experience & skills
- Deep knowledge and understanding of SME products and services (SME Card).
- Significant experience in sales and business development within the SME space.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Progressive business experience with strong track record in the payments industry.
- Deep knowledge of consumer payments.
- Strong account management experience, including understanding of customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Proven project and relationship management skills with experience managing simultaneous initiatives across multicultural, multi-location environments.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to execute through indirect stakeholders.
- Results-driven, disciplined approach to deliver sales targets.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve issues proactively.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, writing, and presentation skills with experience communicating at senior management level in international environments.
