Job description
KBR Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Lead to manage the engineering execution of a major offshore oil & gas project involving wellhead towers, subsea cabling, and offshore piping. The role is part of a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) team and will be based in the contractor’s office in Abu Dhabi. The candidate will oversee all technical and managerial aspects of the project, from FEED through EPC phases, ensuring alignment with mega-project expectations. This role requires significant offshore engineering experience and a track record of leadership in complex, billion-dollar oil & gas programs.

Key responsibilities
- Lead project execution for offshore wellhead tower, subsea cable, and piping systems.
- Manage engineering deliverables during FEED and EPC phases for a mega offshore project.
- Coordinate detailed engineering efforts across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and cost targets.
- Supervise contractor performance and interface with vendors and third parties.
- Maintain close liaison with client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Review and approve key engineering documentation and technical submissions.
- Ensure HSE standards are integrated into all stages of project execution.
- Support risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for technical challenges.
- Report project progress and deviations to senior leadership and client teams.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – mandatory.
- Minimum 18 years of experience in the oil & gas sector.
- At least 5 years of experience in offshore projects – mandatory.
- Strong expertise in offshore wellhead tower, subsea cable, and piping systems – mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar leadership role on mega projects valued at over US$1 billion.
- Demonstrated ability to manage detailed engineering in large-scale, multidisciplinary environments.
- Proven track record in FEED and EPC project phases within the oil & gas domain.
