Job description
The Relationship Manager â Customer Acquisition at Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and risk mitigation across branch operations. This role focuses on auditing, evaluating, and enhancing branch processes to align with regulatory standards and internal policies while driving improvements in customer service delivery. The incumbent will conduct surprise branch inspections, investigate irregularities or potential fraud cases, and coordinate with internal stakeholdersâincluding finance, risk management, and external auditorsâto maintain robust operational integrity. The position demands a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to process optimization, and a deep understanding of retail banking operations.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Conduct periodic surprise visits to branches to evaluate adherence to operational procedures and identify process gaps
- Assess risk exposure across various branch functions and recommend mitigation measures to enhance operational safety
- Investigate suspicious or fraudulent activities, prepare reports, and escalate findings to senior management
- Support branches with daily operational queries, ensuring consistency in service delivery and compliance with internal policies
- Collaborate with consultants, auditors, and other stakeholders on consumer banking operational matters
- Prepare and update surprise visit checklists to assess staff awareness and compliance with policies and procedures
- Evaluate service quality levels at branches and recommend improvements to strengthen customer experience
- Follow up on operational risk self-assessment (ORSM) cases and cash reconciliation discrepancies with finance and branch teams
- Review suspicious transactions in coordination with the Risk Management Group (RMG)
- Ensure cheque book issuance and override processes comply with DIBâs risk and approval framework
- Monitor pending general ledger (GL) transactions reported by reconciliation teams and ensure timely resolution
- Deliver monthly reports on branch performance, cash management, and control effectiveness to senior management
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4â6 years of experience in audit, internal control, or retail banking operations, preferably within a major financial institution
- Advanced understanding of branch operations and retail banking workflows
- Intermediate knowledge of fraud management, reconciliation, and credit policy processes
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, compliance standards, and operational risk management practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder reporting and engagement
- Proven ability to provide independent, actionable operational consultancy to branch staff
- Sound judgment and decision-making ability under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and banking operational systems
