Job description
Kuwait Airways is recruiting for a Specialist, Aviation Medicine within its Medical Center. The role involves providing routine medical treatment to flying staff, diagnosing and managing various conditions, authorizing medical clearances, and ensuring compliance with aviation medical regulations. Responsibilities include issuing medical licenses for crew, overseeing clinical activities, developing medical standards, preparing aviation medicine manuals, and participating in accident investigations. The position requires coordination with state and private hospitals, preparation of industrial injury reports, and implementation of hygiene inspections for catering facilities.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Examine flight crews for fitness to fly and issue medical licenses
- Provide routine treatment to flying crews and related staff
- Review test results, diagnoses, and recommended treatments across multiple specialties
- Determine referrals to hospitals and sick leave eligibility
- Prepare reports on industrial injuries and accidents
- Oversee clinical activities of laboratory and pharmacy
- Draft and implement aviation medical standards and procedures
- Conduct hygiene inspections for catering facilities
- Prepare and distribute aviation medicine manuals, bulletins, and circulars
- Provide first aid guides for flying crews
- Participate in aviation field studies and investigations
- Investigate air accidents with relevant authorities
Experience & skills
- Internationally recognized qualification to practice medicine (M.D. or M.B., Ch.B.)
- 6 years' experience, preferably in aviation medical practice and acute medicine management
- License to practice as a physician from Kuwait Ministry of Public Health
- Very good knowledge of English
