The Credit Manager - FAB Securities role in Abu Dhabi at First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is responsible for leading the development, review, and enhancement of Margin Trading Policies and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in full alignment with group policies, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations within a securities brokerage environment. The role supports the FAB Securities Risk team in assessing credit risk controls across all products and services, continuously monitoring exposures, identifying emerging risks, and escalating material issues to protect the business and ensure strong credit discipline. The Credit Manager is responsible for conducting comprehensive credit risk assessments for FAB Securities, ensuring proper implementation of the group credit risk framework across all credit products while validating compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires managing and enhancing the credit function by identifying process gaps, system weaknesses, and risk areas, while implementing initiatives to strengthen the credit risk environment and ensure minimal exposure and adherence to market best practices. The role involves collaboration with Audit, Legal, Compliance, and other control functions to resolve credit-related issues, manage client risk changes, and ensure timely corrective actions. Key responsibilities include overseeing margin trading documentation such as account opening agreements, evaluating margin trading facility requests under SCA regulations, monitoring client portfolios and exposures, managing margin calls and shortfalls, approving liquidations, and overseeing Approved Securities List (ASL) processes. The Credit Manager also assesses client requests for stock transfers, fund transfers, and account closures while ensuring compliance with margin trading rules. The role includes preparing management reports, overseeing Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations, ensuring regulatory compliance under SCA jurisdiction, and contributing to the governance framework of the organization. The position requires strong leadership in credit risk management, regulatory knowledge, analytical ability, and the capability to manage complex credit operations in a fast-paced brokerage environment within the UAE financial market.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the development, periodic review, and enhancement of Margin Trading Policy and related SOPs ensuring alignment with group policies, risk appetite, and regulatory expectations under SCA and internal governance frameworks.
- Support the Risk team in assessing credit risk controls across all FAB Securities products by continuously monitoring exposures, identifying emerging risks, and escalating material issues to protect the business and ensure risk mitigation.
- Conduct comprehensive credit risk assessments for FAB Securities and ensure implementation of recommended controls and mitigation actions in accordance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Ensure full implementation of the Group credit risk framework across all credit products by validating compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for both existing and new products.
- Manage and enhance the credit function by identifying process inefficiencies, system weaknesses, and risk gaps while leading initiatives to improve operational efficiency and strengthen credit risk controls.
- Collaborate with Audit, Legal, Compliance, and other control functions to address credit-related matters, resolve account shortfalls, manage client risk changes, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Oversee all Margin Trading documentation including account opening agreements, communication templates, and related materials while ensuring accuracy, regulatory alignment, and consistency with internal standards.
- Evaluate Margin Trading Facility requests and conduct daily monitoring of client portfolios, exposures, and margin ratios, ensuring proactive management of margin calls, liquidations, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage Approved Securities List (ASL) processes including analysis of impact on margin accounts, implementation of updates, stakeholder communication, and system coordination.
- Prepare and deliver management reports on credit exposure, risk trends, and operational performance while overseeing ECL calculations and ensuring accurate reporting to management and stakeholders.
Experience & skills
- Possess 7–10 years of experience in credit risk management within UAE brokerage companies operating under SCA jurisdiction and local market regulations.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of SCA regulations pertaining to securities trading, margin lending, and brokerage operations.
- Show ability to independently manage all credit-related matters within a securities or brokerage business environment.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills in credit risk assessment, exposure monitoring, and financial risk mitigation within margin trading environments.
- Possess experience in managing margin trading operations including margin calls, liquidations, portfolio monitoring, and credit control processes.
- Demonstrate knowledge of ECL calculation methodologies and credit risk frameworks within financial institutions.
- Show strong project management, risk mitigation, and operational control capabilities in financial services environments.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate across Audit, Legal, Compliance, and business teams under tight deadlines.
