Job description
GEMS World Academy ā Abu Dhabi is looking for a people-focused HR Manager to lead full-spectrum HR functions within the school. The successful candidate will support strategic hiring, implement compliant HR practices aligned with UAE Labour Law and ADEK regulations, and foster a high-performing, employee-centric culture. This role is key in maintaining robust HR operations and delivering support across all stages of the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Prepare employment contracts in compliance with GEMS and UAE Labour Law.
- Coordinate all visa, travel, and induction logistics for new hires.
- Administer employee benefits and HR documentation (NOCs, salary letters, DAX reports, etc.).
- Manage day-to-day HR operations including records, systems, and policy implementation.
- Support HR systems development and contribute to ERP inputs.
- Advise management and employees on employee relations, UAE Labour Law, and ADEK requirements.
- Handle separations including clearance, documentation, and exit interviews.
- Ensure timely execution of MOE licensing and ADEK appointment letters with Government Relations team.
- Generate regular HR reports and provide strategic insights for school leadership.
- Act as a counselor and employee engagement champion within the school.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years progressive HR experience, preferably in education or an international setting.
- Strong understanding of UAE Labour Law and ADEK regulations.
- Proficient in HR systems (DAX preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
