Job description
The Supply Chain Logistics Manager - Import Operations (Splash Concept) is responsible for managing end-to-end import logistics operations for the Splash brand within a retail supply chain environment in the UAE. The role focuses on managing shipment execution across sea freight and air freight, ensuring timely handovers, minimizing delays, and maintaining operational efficiency. The position requires conducting delay analysis, identifying root causes for supplier and transit delays, and implementing corrective actions to improve performance. The manager is responsible for ETA tracking, proactive supplier follow-ups, and escalation management to ensure timely deliveries. The role includes analysing freight costs, identifying cost deviations, and implementing cost optimization initiatives. The position also involves publishing weekly and monthly reports, maintaining operational trackers, and sharing performance dashboards and scorecards for freight forwarders and liners. The manager leads import coordinators, ensuring team alignment, productivity, and accountability while collaborating with Buying, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations. The role requires enforcing SOP compliance, managing cost recovery processes including storage and detention charges, and maintaining efficient import operations aligned with retail supply chain requirements.

Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import shipment execution across sea and air freight ensuring timely handovers and minimal delays
- Conduct monthly delay analysis including supplier and transit delays, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure proactive supplier follow-ups, accurate ETA tracking, and timely escalation of shipment issues
- Analyse freight costs, identify deviations, and implement cost optimization opportunities
- Publish weekly and monthly operational reports, maintain trackers, and share performance dashboards
- Monitor forwarder and liner performance using scorecards and performance metrics
- Lead and guide import coordinators ensuring team productivity, accountability, and alignment
- Collaborate with Buying, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth execution
- Ensure adherence to SOPs across import logistics operations
- Manage cost recovery including storage and detention charges from responsible parties
Experience & skills
- Hold a graduate degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field
- Possess 4-5 years of experience in import or logistics operations
- Demonstrate strong experience in import logistics with sea freight experience preferred
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills including Excel reporting and data analysis
- Possess effective stakeholder management and communication capabilities
- Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities in logistics and supply chain operations
- Show experience in team leadership and coordination
- Demonstrate knowledge of import operations and logistics execution processes
