Job description
The Site Operations Manager role at Microsoft, titled Datacenter Operations Manager (DCOM), is responsible for leading and managing mission-critical data center operations within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation organization in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role supports the delivery of core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s global cloud services including Azure, Bing, Office 365, Xbox, and OneDrive. The position oversees people management, service delivery, budget alignment, operational readiness, safety, security, and end-to-end service quality within a large-scale data center environment. It involves managing IT and Critical Environment services, ensuring adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and OKRs, supporting global and regional initiatives, maintaining environmental health and safety standards, participating in major incident management, and driving continuous improvement. The role requires leadership of diverse technical teams, coordination with cross-functional stakeholders, oversight of mission-critical infrastructure, budget management exceeding $1M, and compliance with Microsoft Cloud security and background check requirements, all within a culture focused on safety, customer obsession, accountability, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage data center operations to deliver end-to-end service compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Manage and develop diverse technical teams through coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Review and improve SLAs, KPIs, and OKRs across IT and Critical Environment services
- Plan, manage, and align data center budgets, forecasting demand costs and managing financial tradeoffs
- Oversee mission-critical infrastructure including power, cooling, and physical IT systems
- Ensure adherence to environmental health and safety runbooks and immediately report safety or security issues
- Partner cross-functionally on global and regional initiatives including risk assessments and certifications
- Participate in and lead response for Sev 1 and Sev 2 incidents, approving root cause analysis and postmortems
- Manage client relationships and service delivery expectations while maintaining strong customer focus
- Identify operational risks, dependencies, and service gaps and escalate or resolve issues to maintain service quality
- Support workforce planning, training completion, and collaboration with Learning & Development teams
- Drive continuous improvement, best practices sharing, and operational excellence across regional and global teams
Experience & skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 5+ years of experience in mission-critical service management
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience leading diverse, technical teams
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check and security screening requirements
- Preferred experience managing enterprise-scale projects and Critical Environment infrastructure
- Preferred experience managing physical IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networking, and cabling
- Experience managing budgets of $1M or more
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- Applicable certifications such as ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Operations Framework, CompTIA, CCNA, PMP, or CDCP preferred
