Job description
The Investment Associate supports the sector headâwho works through appointed board membersâto oversee strategy, budgeting, risk, talent, compensation, and M&A initiatives across portfolio companies, while helping manage the value of investments in the sector, initiating and managing transformation initiatives at portfolio companies, and evaluating new investment opportunities; the role drives and optimizes value creation in portfolio companies by supporting consistently refreshed shareholder opinions and Value Creation Plans, providing support to the Investment manager (key interface with Board / Exec team) to drive value creation plans to execution, supporting identification and analysis of portfolio company synergies and their implementation, monitoring asset performance and mitigating potential issues, performing analysis and reporting that support regular performance review of portfolio companies, reviewing and reporting whether companies are on track vs. plan on key topics, flagging potential issues to the investment manager, and providing data and requests for reports and analysis that underpin hold / sell implications; the position contributes to sector strategies and detailed sector screens by gathering data and research that support the development of sector strategies and the EIA point of view on the sector and on latest relevant trends and investable themes, and by gathering data and research that support development of detailed sector screens to identify the most attractive opportunities for investment; the associate supports deal origination for new strategic investments (in coordination with M&A) by beginning to forge connections that engage with the sector ecosystem to build a strong network with relevant stakeholders, conducting reports and analysis as requested to enable deal teams to execute on deal transactions in collaboration with the M&A team, and heavily contributing on all sector specific and commercial topics (e.g., commercial diligence), and performs inter-company comparison with other sector/industry competitors in terms of costs, sales, profit, ratios, etc.; requirements include a Bachelors degree in Finance or Business, relevant professional certificates (CFA, CPA) as an added advantage, holding a valid UAE family book, 4-8 yrs experience in Consulting / Investments or related field, strong financial modelling experience, and strong communication and presentation skills.

Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelors degree in Finance or Business.
- Possess relevant professional certificates (CFA, CPA) as an added advantage.
