Job description
Getting aircraft through Base maintenance efficiently depends on tight coordination between manpower, materials and hangar resources, and that coordination sits with this Production Planning Engineer. You'll build detailed project plans, work packages and maintenance schedules for heavy checks, modifications and other maintenance tasks as they come up. Task sequencing and resource allocation get managed to minimize downtime and hit turnaround time targets, with staffing levels adjusted as productivity data comes in. Status reviews and performance tracking keep plans current, since findings and shifting operational needs mean schedules rarely stay fixed for long. Regulatory requirements, OEM instructions and company standards including the Safety Management System all shape how work gets planned and approved. Cost analysis runs alongside this, looking for ways to cut wastage, rework and overtime without compromising quality. Workload gets distributed according to technician skillsets, certifications and availability, and bottlenecks or process gaps across the workflow get flagged as they surface. Daily and weekly production meetings fall under this role too, reporting status, risks and recovery plans while keeping stakeholders informed on progress, delays and expected completion dates. A bachelor's degree in aviation or a maintenance related discipline is required, along with five to seven years of relevant experience and fluency in English.
