Job description
The Investment Banking Associate – MENA Coverage role at J.P. Morgan in Dubai is a mid-level position within the Commercial & Investment Bank, focused on providing comprehensive investment banking services across the MENA region. The associate will support the origination, execution, and advisory of public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt capital raising transactions, and leveraged finance. The role includes preparing detailed financial models, conducting valuation analyses using multiples, DCF, and LBO methods, performing market and company research, and creating client presentations. Associates will also lead workstreams, manage projects, supervise and mentor analysts, and coordinate with industry, country, and product teams globally. The position provides hands-on experience in transaction execution from pitch to close, involvement in equity and debt capital markets advisory, and opportunities for professional development through continuous mentoring and feedback. The associate contributes to client relationship management, strategic advisory, and execution of investment banking products, ensuring high attention to detail and adherence to firm standards and processes across the transaction lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
- Support execution, marketing, and client coverage activities across multiple industries within MENA.
- Research and analyse market data, company performance, and industry trends to support transaction execution and client advisory.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and marketing materials to support deal origination and advisory efforts.
- Perform detailed valuation analyses including multiples, discounted cash flow (DCF), leveraged buyout (LBO), and other financial modeling techniques.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to support investment decisions, transaction structuring, and capital raising activities.
- Execute transactions from pitch to close, including public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt capital markets advisory, listings, rights issues, acquisition and leveraged finance across the MENA region.
- Manage project workstreams, coordinate tasks across teams, and ensure timely completion of deliverables while maintaining high accuracy and quality.
- Provide mentorship, supervision, and guidance to analysts while collaborating with colleagues across industry, country, and product teams to deliver strategic investment banking solutions.
Experience & skills
- Possess approximately 5 years of full-time experience in investment banking or corporate finance.
- Demonstrate strong financial modelling and valuation skills with high attention to detail.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of the transaction cycle for investment banking products including M&A, ECM, DCM, and leveraged finance.
- Show ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating across global teams and stakeholders.
- Exhibit adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently and efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with investment banking databases such as FactSet and Bloomberg.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
