Job description
The Civil Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing project schedules, resources, and budgets for construction projects in Dubai. This role ensures timely and efficient project completion by creating detailed plans, tracking progress against baselines, coordinating architects, managers, and site crews, managing risks, and reporting to stakeholders. The engineer estimates labor and material needs, manages budgets, forecasts cash flows, identifies potential roadblocks, and develops recovery plans for delays. Responsibilities also include liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, facilitating meetings, documenting decisions, preparing progress summaries, and advising management on corrective actions. The role requires proficiency with planning software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, understanding of construction processes, AutoCAD skills, and strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. The position contributes to high-impact infrastructure projects, improving efficiency and project execution across residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.

Key responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project schedules including milestones, critical paths, and baseline plans
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress, comparing actual performance against planned schedules
- Estimate labor and material requirements, manage project budgets, and forecast cash flows
- Coordinate and liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients; facilitate meetings and document decisions
- Identify potential roadblocks, assess risks, and develop recovery plans to mitigate project delays
- Prepare progress summaries, highlight weaknesses, and advise management on corrective actions
- Monitor and report on project execution to stakeholders to ensure alignment with timelines and objectives
- Ensure all project scheduling and planning documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Support project teams in resource allocation and operational efficiency improvements
- Collaborate with procurement and site management to streamline project execution processes
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in project execution for residential, commercial, or mixed-use building projects
- Proficiency in planning software including Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities for identifying and mitigating project risks
- Ability to coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary project teams effectively
- Understanding of construction processes, resource management, and financial planning for projects
- Experience in tracking progress and providing actionable reports to stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced contracting environment
