The Principal Rotating Equipment Design Engineer is a senior mechanical engineering role responsible for the design, specification, and technical leadership of rotating equipment systems within oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, offshore, and infrastructure projects. The position involves leading engineering teams of up to 10 engineers and designers while overseeing FEED and detailed engineering activities for medium to large-scale projects. The engineer is responsible for ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and on-schedule delivery within budget constraints. Core responsibilities include reviewing and approving equipment data sheets and specifications, performing advanced technical studies such as compressor configuration analysis, driver selection, life cycle cost analysis, RAM studies, and specialty equipment evaluations. The role also includes evaluating technical bids, conducting packaged equipment reviews, and providing expert guidance to clients and project teams. The engineer must apply deep knowledge of rotating equipment and turbomachinery systems including installation, pre-commissioning, and mechanical completion processes. Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, API, NFPA, OSHA, ISA, and NEC is required, along with knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards being an advantage. The role requires collaboration with project management, clients, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance, reliability, and compliance with engineering standards.
