Job description
The Government Relations Officer at Space42 plays a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination with UAE government authorities to manage permits, access cards, and regulatory compliance across the organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong familiarity with Mahawi and UAE security procedures, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation. The role supports Space42’s mission by enabling efficient operational compliance within a high-security, innovation-driven environment.

Key responsibilities
- Manage all government-related documentation, applications, and renewals for company and employee permits.
- Oversee the timely renewal of access permits, ensuring uninterrupted operations and avoiding penalties.
- Maintain comprehensive Excel logs tracking expiry dates, renewal cycles, and permit statuses.
- Prepare and submit required forms and supporting documentation to government bodies for approvals and renewals.
- Monitor and follow up on pending applications, addressing any issues, rejections, or discrepancies promptly.
- Stay updated on government policy changes and ensure the company remains compliant with UAE regulations.
- Coordinate closely with Mahawi and other security offices for access permit issuance and renewal.
- Support HR and administrative teams in handling employee and visitor security clearances.
- Safeguard sensitive and confidential information in all government-related processes.
- Perform additional PRO-related duties as assigned by management.
Experience & skills
- 3–5 years of UAE-based experience in government relations, PRO, or administrative roles.
- Strong knowledge of Mahawi systems and access permit procedures (mandatory).
- Fluency in both Arabic and English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing tracking logs and compliance databases.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proven record of maintaining compliance and fostering positive relationships with UAE government bodies.
- High integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
