The Director of Marketing role at SADAFCO in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is responsible for heading the Marketing Department with the objective of marketing SADAFCO’s consumer brands, developing and creating brand equity, and driving sustainable, profitable growth in both the short and long term. The role owns the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the overall Marketing Strategy, including creating comprehensive marketing plans, securing necessary approvals, managing the marketing budget, and implementing agreed marketing initiatives. The position leads multiple consumer-need segments and product categories, focusing on optimizing value creation, brand equity, and profitability. Responsibilities include driving brand value creation through continuous monitoring of consumer tracker KPIs, leading manpower planning and organizational structure optimization in coordination with the CEO and Organizational Development, and ensuring effective consumer need segment planning. The role leads consumer insights generation through syndicated, continuous, and ad-hoc research to understand consumer behavior, needs, and attitudes. It ensures the development and evaluation of effective advertising and promotional programs based on consumer insights and competitor activities, manages and monitors A&P spend, and takes corrective actions as required. The Director of Marketing leads product innovation and new product development processes, including idea generation, renovation, and innovation aligned with company, market, and category strategies, assigns project leaders, and drives teams to achieve benchmarks. The role also oversees category forecasting through coordination with Supply Chain and Sales to ensure accurate rolling sales forecasts, leads pricing strategy development and review in collaboration with Sales and Trade Marketing to ensure optimal profitability, and manages tail-end products by identifying decliners and non-contributors and taking corrective actions in liaison with senior leadership. The role requires extensive FMCG marketing experience, including multinational exposure, strong analytical capabilities, expertise in brand communication planning and media selection, and the ability to translate market and sales plans into accurate forecasts.

Key responsibilities
- Head the Marketing Department to market SADAFCO’s consumer brands and develop brand equity
- Develop, obtain approval for, and implement the overall Marketing Strategy and marketing plans
- Manage and control the Marketing Budget in line with approved objectives
- Increase brand value proposition by monitoring and evaluating consumer tracker KPIs
- Assess manpower requirements, optimize organizational structure, and coordinate with OD to fill vacancies
- Develop and implement consumer need segment plans to drive sustainable profitable growth
- Lead consumer insights generation through syndicated, continuous, and ad-hoc research
- Develop and evaluate advertising and promotional programs based on consumer insights and competitor activity
- Monitor, evaluate, and optimize advertising and promotion spend and take corrective actions when required
- Lead product innovation and new product development initiatives aligned with market and category strategies
- Assign project leaders and drive cross-functional teams to achieve innovation benchmarks
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Sales to deliver accurate rolling category sales forecasts
- Set and review consumer pricing strategies in cooperation with Sales and Trade Marketing
- Identify declining and non-contributing products and implement corrective actions with senior management
Experience & skills
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is desirable
- Minimum 12 years of relevant FMCG marketing experience
- At least 6 years of experience in a multinational company environment
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
- Proven experience in analyzing market data, identifying trends, and reporting insights
- Ability to identify, define, and interpret consumer behavior and attitudes
- Experience developing innovative brand communication plans and selecting appropriate media
- Ability to define brand activity objectives including volume, net sales, and profitability and translate plans into sales forecasts
