Job description
The Duty Manager – Front Office at Jumeirah Al Qasr is a key operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the property, particularly the Front Office operations. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, this role oversees the guest experience from arrival to departure, maintaining Jumeirah’s world-class service standards. The incumbent will supervise check-in and check-out processes, room allocations, and VIP arrangements, while coordinating with Housekeeping, Concierge, and other departments to deliver seamless operations. The Duty Manager acts as the first point of escalation for guest complaints, service recovery, and emergency response situations. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to make decisions under pressure and maintain high service quality across all touchpoints in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities
- Supervise daily Front Office operations, ensuring alignment with Jumeirah standards and property objectives.
- Oversee the coordination of interdepartmental activities between Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Conduct regular room and property inspections to assess cleanliness, readiness, and operational compliance.
- Manage guest relations including check-in/check-out processes, VIP handling, and resolution of complaints or service issues.
- Handle overbooking situations, special requests, and emergencies efficiently while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Monitor team performance, grooming, and adherence to company policies and service standards.
- Ensure the presentation and cleanliness of lobby and guest-facing areas in coordination with the Housekeeping and Engineering teams.
- Maintain product and service knowledge to effectively handle guest inquiries and support sales of hotel facilities.
- Uphold compliance with Jumeirah’s safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Prepare and submit shift reports detailing guest feedback, incidents, and operational highlights.
- Promote a culture of excellence and teamwork, providing guidance and coaching to Front Office associates.
- Act as property leader in the absence of senior management during assigned shifts.
Experience & skills
- 3–5 years of Front Office experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong understanding of Front Office operations, guest services, and hotel systems (PMS and MS Office).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Proven ability to handle guest complaints, emergencies, and service recovery with professionalism.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage teams in a high-paced environment.
- High level of adaptability, flexibility with working hours, and cultural awareness.
- Attention to detail and commitment to upholding Jumeirah’s service excellence standards.
- Educational background in Hospitality Management or a related discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of Dubai tourism standards and local regulations is beneficial.
