Job description
The Private Banker will join Barclays' expanding Private Banking team in Dubai, managing and growing a portfolio of High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) clients within the UAE market. This role requires delivering tailored financial solutions, including bespoke banking services, wealth structuring, and a comprehensive suite of investment products across asset classes. The banker will serve as the primary advisor to clients, maintaining proactive client servicing, reviewing portfolios, and ensuring full alignment with clients’ financial goals. Responsibilities include networking and onboarding new clients, identifying opportunities for cross-selling, advising on estate planning and offshore structuring, and delivering commercial outcomes aligned with client needs. The role also entails strategic participation in wealth forums, high-profile gatherings, and business development efforts. Key duties include controlling and monitoring portfolio risks, responding to client queries, staying informed on global economic trends, and supporting regulated financial strategies within a dynamic and competitive financial landscape.

- Manage and grow a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, understanding their financial goals and risk appetite
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and financial advice
- Conduct regular reviews of clients' investment and financial portfolios
- Deliver high quality bespoke advice, maximising value for clients and negotiating optimal outcomes
- Identify and onboard new clients through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships
- Develop and execute tailored strategies to attract and retain wealthy clients in the region
- Attend client events, wealth management forums, and other high-profile gatherings
- Advise on portfolio management, estate planning, succession, and offshore structuring
- Keep clients informed on market trends, economic updates, and investment opportunities
- Monitor and manage client book risks and ensure regulatory compliance
Experience & skills
- Previous experience as a Private Banker with a client base of over USD300m in the UAE market
- Demonstrated expertise in managing relationships with High-Net-Worth Clients
- Experience in investment advisory, banking and trust services, structured and managed portfolios
- Strong understanding of global economic trends, political conditions, and competitor activity
- Knowledge of regulated credit agreements, portfolio management, and financial promotions
- Comfort with digital platforms and ability to meet clients' evolving digital needs
- Adaptability to rapidly changing regulatory and technological environments
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert in credit, investment, and banking product knowledge
