Job description
Fuse Energy is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to play a key role in building the mobile experiences that power the future of energy. As part of a fast-growing renewable energy startup backed by leading global investors, you will contribute to the development of consumer-facing mobile applications that connect users to smart energy systems, distributed assets, and real-time energy data. This role involves designing and delivering high-performance iOS and Android applications that enable customers to manage energy usage, participate in decentralized energy networks, and optimize consumption patterns. You will work closely with product, design, backend, and data teams to build intuitive, scalable, and secure mobile platforms that support Fuse Energy’s mission of delivering a terawatt of renewable energy through technology-driven innovation.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications for both iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate product requirements and user journeys into seamless mobile experiences.
- Implement pixel-perfect, high-quality UI components while maintaining design consistency across platforms.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, defining scalable and maintainable code structures, reusable components, and modular frameworks.
- Integrate mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services, ensuring efficient data synchronization and error handling.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and responsiveness across a wide range of devices and operating system versions.
- Implement secure authentication, data encryption, and secure storage mechanisms aligned with mobile security best practices.
- Develop and maintain push notification systems and real-time messaging features to enhance user engagement.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code, contributing to code reviews and maintaining high engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues quickly to ensure stable releases and smooth user experiences.
- Participate in CI/CD processes, version control workflows, and app store release cycles for both platforms.
- Continuously evaluate emerging mobile technologies, frameworks, and development tools to drive innovation and improve engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, data, and infrastructure teams to ensure cohesive end-to-end system performance.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience developing native mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Swift for iOS development and Kotlin for Android development.
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable mobile architectures and maintaining large codebases.
- Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, responsive design, accessibility, and platform-specific guidelines.
- Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing asynchronous data flows within mobile applications.
- Experience implementing push notifications, background services, and messaging frameworks.
- Knowledge of mobile security fundamentals, including secure authentication, encryption, and data protection practices.
- Experience with debugging tools, crash reporting systems, and performance monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and Agile development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across distributed teams.
