Job description
The Specialist – Revenue Accounting role in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is a critical position within the Accounting department, responsible for the technical and operational management of revenue accounting processes. The role ensures compliance with IFRS standards and methodologies, overseeing the end-to-end tracking and recording of revenue transactions from various systems and channels. The position requires ensuring completeness and accuracy of revenue data and financial reporting in line with IFRS requirements, while managing day-to-day revenue operations and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. The Specialist develops and implements strategies to enhance revenue accounting processes, focusing on improving efficiency and accuracy, and participates in critical assignments by providing technical expertise and leadership within the revenue accounting function. The role involves staying updated with industry trends and best practices in revenue accounting, suggesting process improvements, providing technical support and guidance to team members to ensure high competency, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth revenue-related operations and effective data flow. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting with a strong understanding of IFRS standards and their application, supported by a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with preference for professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CA, or ACCA.

- Manage and oversee revenue accounting processes ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and methodologies
- Track and record revenue transactions end-to-end from various systems and channels to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue data and financial reporting in line with IFRS requirements
- Liaise with stakeholders to manage day-to-day revenue operations and maintain strong working relationships
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance revenue accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Manage and participate in critical assignments by providing technical expertise and leadership within the revenue accounting function
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in revenue accounting and suggest process improvements
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth revenue-related operations and data flow
Experience & skills
- Obtain a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Hold or pursue a professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, or ACCA as a strong preference
- Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue accounting
- Demonstrate strong understanding of IFRS standards and their application in revenue accounting
- Demonstrate experience ensuring completeness and accuracy of revenue data and reporting in compliance with IFRS
- Demonstrate capability to manage end-to-end revenue tracking and recording from multiple systems and channels
- Demonstrate ability to provide technical accounting expertise and leadership in critical assignments
