Job description
The Technician - Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining port mobile equipment, including Mobile Harbour Cranes, Terminal Tractors, and Forklifts. The role ensures maximum operational availability by performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs while complying with safety regulations and keeping accurate maintenance records.

Key responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and monitoring of port mobile equipment
- Perform repairs on Mobile Harbour Cranes, Terminal Tractors, Forklifts, and other port machinery
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and report issues to the supervisor
- Document repair activities and man-hours in work orders
- Ensure safety regulations are followed during all maintenance activities
- Provide accurate maintenance updates for the CMMS system
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshop and tools
- Stay updated with new mechanical technologies and attend training sessions
Experience & skills
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Valid UAE driving license
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance workshop role
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Knowledge of mechanical systems for cranes, tractors, and forklifts
- Ability to work independently when required
- Commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
