Job description
The Manager, Performance and Effectiveness (IWPB UAE) at HSBC supports business performance evaluation and decision-making across HSBC's UAE & Middle East International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) division. This includes performance analysis of countries, channels, products, and customer segments. The role involves preparing regular performance dashboards, sales reporting, and insights for the Head of IWPB Middle East and senior committees. The position manages data interpretation, market research, and customer insights to identify business risks and opportunities, ensures alignment with strategic goals, and supports various initiatives including Distribution Operating Plan (DOP), management review presentations, governance briefings, and ad hoc strategic projects. The manager also contributes to operational risk reassessments and compliance within a fast-paced, matrixed banking environment.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze business performance data for IWPB UAE & Middle East
- Support Head of IWPB ME and UAE IWPB Operating Committee with insights and strategy alignment
- Prepare sales reporting and performance dashboards across channels
- Support Employee Banking Services revenue reporting and client dashboard generation
- Prepare performance decks for Market Performance Meetings and CEO Quarterly Reviews
- Support Distribution Operating Plan (DOP) related activities
- Manage and interpret ad-hoc data, market research, and customer insights
- Support strategic reviews and regional responses to Group initiatives
- Provide input for global governance papers and briefing notes
- Reassess operational risks associated with role responsibilities
Experience & skills
- Graduation degree (mandatory for UAE visa and work permit)
- Proven experience in performance management, business management, or commercial execution in financial services
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and business case development
- Experience with financial and non-financial KPIs
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with operational risk and control in a regulated environment
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
- Understanding of retail and wealth banking products
- Proven project delivery experience with limited direct resources
- Ability to perform desk research and identify opportunities
- Self-starter with forward-looking strategic mindset
