Job description
The Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) UAE Consumer and Healthcare Lead is responsible for managing a team of relationship managers specializing in consumer and healthcare sectors. The role requires thorough industry knowledge, strategic leadership, and the ability to drive business development while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal policies. The position has a direct reporting line to the UAE Country Head and a matrix reporting line to the Europe/MEA/UK Consumer & Healthcare Industry Head. This is a high-impact leadership role with accountability for revenue generation, client relationship management, risk assessment, and execution of strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Drive innovation in client solutions by partnering with product specialists and structuring deals balancing risk and reward
- Execute strategic initiatives centrally launched across the franchise
- Oversee client credit relationships and supervise the application of credit policies
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's internal policies
- Lead and manage a team of Relationship Managers, driving sales and client engagement
- Attract, retain, and motivate top talent within the team
- Manage a budget and achieve team sales targets
- Establish strong client relationships and deepen existing client engagements
- Identify and pursue new client opportunities aligned with CCBâs value proposition
- Create accountability across the team for compliance and ethical business practices
Experience & skills
- 10+ years of banking experience with in-depth knowledge of commercial banking
- Strong commercial credit knowledge and experience with complex capital structures
- Proven track record of managing and leading teams through complex changes
- Significant experience in client relationship management and business development
- Ability to understand industry dynamics, future trends, and develop industry-focused solutions
- Intermediate to advanced credit decision-making skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Bachelorâs/University degree required, Masterâs degree preferred
- Experience in managing budgets, performance evaluations, and compensation planning
- Ability to quickly adapt priorities based on data insights and market dynamics
