Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner to oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking to ensure efficient execution of high-profile projects for a global energy client. The role supports the planning and delivery of transformative projects in oil, gas, and new energies sectors, playing a critical part in the energy transition. Key responsibilities
- Acts as Planning focal point for specific project scopes.
- Review and maintain planning control structures aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using scheduling software.
- Monitor and control planning activities through all project phases.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and third parties to track project status and schedule impact.
- Provide project plans, schedules, and progress reports per project reporting requirements.
- Update project plans, schedules, and manpower requirements.
- Monitor and assess schedule impacts due to change notifications.
- Evaluate project progress, milestone achievements, and performance metrics.
- Attend internal project progress and performance meetings.
- Coordinate with cost discipline to ensure timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets.
- Ensure change requests are included in schedule updates.
- Participate in and lead schedule risk analysis sessions.
- Conduct Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.
- Mentor and support the career development of Planning personnel.
Experience & skills
- Minimum 10 years relevant scheduling/planning experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera and scheduling software.
- Proficiency in Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and leveling.
- Advanced understanding of WBS and CBS structures.
- Expertise in earned value management and schedule variance analysis.
- Advanced skills in preparing resource, staffing, and progress plans.
- Strong grasp of project management principles and techniques.
- Understanding of cost management, change control, and risk analysis.
- Prior experience in a senior planning role within large-scale engineering projects.
