Job description
Tabby is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead its Cross-Border Remittances and E-Money Wallet portfolios across the GCC region. The role involves overseeing operations, driving profitability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering strategic partnerships. The position requires hands-on expertise in remittances, exposure to wallet operations, and a deep understanding of the GCC financial services landscape.

Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end processing of remittance transactions, including validation, currency conversion, and settlement via MTO rails.
- Liaise with banking partners and liquidity providers to maintain adequate funds for remittances.
- Perform reconciliations with MTO rails and resolve discrepancies or failed transactions within SLAs.
- Track FX rates and partner with treasury to mitigate FX losses in remittances.
- Oversee accounting workflows and generate partner-level reports for remittances.
- Collaborate with support teams to resolve transaction inquiries, disputes, and issues promptly.
- Own key remittance KPIs and implement enhancements for efficiency.
- Supervise comprehensive e-money wallet operations, including onboarding, funding, balance management, and transaction processing.
- Ensure wallet liquidity and secure real-time transfers with payment gateways and custodian banks.
- Analyze wallet usage, fees, and interchange rates to optimize costs and improve retention.
- Ensure timely reporting to banks, schemes, and regulators.
- Manage partnerships with MTOs, banks, and financial partners for remittances.
- Negotiate agreements with new remittance rail providers to optimize corridors.
- Own partnerships with custodian banks and vendors for wallet offerings.
- Oversee portfolio health, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and ECL monitoring.
- Contribute to pricing and fee structures for competitive offerings.
- Manage P&L for remittances and wallets, including cost and revenue lines and net performance.
- Prepare monthly SteerCo updates with detailed P&L and strategy reports.
- Lead compliance for remittances and wallets, obtaining licenses and approvals in target markets.
- Partner with legal, compliance, and product teams for regulatory submissions and mandate implementation.
Experience & skills
- Proven experience (4-6 years) in cross-border remittances is mandatory.
- Experience managing e-money wallet portfolios, consumer financing, or similar fintech products in the GCC.
- Strong understanding of financial operations, P&L management, and regulatory landscapes in payments and remittances.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to monitor KPIs, optimize processes, and drive profitability.
- Demonstrated success in partner management and commercial negotiations.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field.
- Advanced certifications in compliance or fintech are a plus.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
