Job description
The MEP Coordinator role in Dubai within the Construction / Civil Engineering industry is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects. The position ensures full compliance with design drawings, specifications, and industry standards while reviewing and providing feedback on MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. The role involves managing integration of MEP systems with civil and architectural works, ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines. The coordinator identifies and resolves discrepancies or conflicts in MEP designs and installations, supports procurement activities through technical specifications review, and ensures timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring MEP progress against project scheduling requirements, preparing and submitting detailed progress reports, and participating in project meetings to provide technical input. The role requires strong expertise in interpreting construction drawings and engineering drawings, as well as hands-on experience with MEP systems implementation and installation. The position demands a technically sound understanding of construction standards, industry standards, and MEP coordination practices within civil construction environments.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor all MEP systems including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and industry standards
- Review and provide comments on MEP shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
- Liaise between MEP subcontractors and site teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of works
- Ensure integration of MEP systems with civil and architectural works for seamless project execution
- Monitor MEP progress and ensure timely completion in alignment with overall project scheduling requirements
- Identify and address discrepancies or conflicts in MEP designs and installations to prevent delays and rework
- Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications and ensuring timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project management team detailing MEP status and performance
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input related to MEP coordination and implementation
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate minimum 7 years of experience as an MEP Coordinator preferably within the civil construction industry
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrate strong background in handling MEP systems across commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects
- Demonstrate ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering drawings accurately
- Demonstrate expertise in MEP coordination, MEP design review, and MEP installation practices
- Demonstrate experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
- Demonstrate proficiency in project scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting within construction projects
- Demonstrate capability to review technical specifications and support procurement of MEP materials and equipment
