Job description
The Director, Water Quality at Atlantis Dubai is responsible for managing and overseeing all maintenance activities related to water systems including aquariums, pools, waterparks, spas, and water features. This includes ensuring compliance with OSHA and other industry regulations, managing Capex and emergency repairs, maintaining documentation standards, and ensuring all water systems meet health and safety requirements. The role collaborates with the Hotel Facilities team and leads a Water Quality team to ensure the operational functionality of water systems across the resort meets the highest standards.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee the treatment, distribution and daily operations of all water treatment facilities throughout the property.
- Ensure periodic testing & analysis are conducted for the right water quality across applications.
- Maintain documentation in alignment with governing bodies and industry standards.
- Oversee project management, daily operations, Capex projects, and emergency repairs.
- Institute and monitor all policies and procedures.
- Evaluate current and new premises for suitability and availability.
- Calculate and compare costs for goods/services to ensure value for money.
- Manage departmental financial performance.
- Plan future development in line with strategic objectives.
- Lead change management to minimize disruption.
- Ensure mechanical plant rooms, pools, spas, and aquariums meet safety standards.
- Allocate and utilize space and resources effectively.
- Ensure high standards in work completed by staff or contractors, with follow-up on deficiencies.
- Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Use performance management to lead service level improvements.
- Respond and manage emergencies or urgent operational issues.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure equipment is operational.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 10 yearsâ experience in Aquatic Maintenance and Life Support Systems.
- Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing or Occupational Health, Safety & Environment.
- Experience in Preventative Maintenance, Support Services or Fish Husbandry.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent.
- Membership in a recognized Industry Institute.
- Experience in the Hospitality Industry.
- Strong and proven leadership and management skills.
