Job description
In this role you will work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia at Mace, a unique project consisting of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and all associated infrastructure. You will lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project as one of the delivery partners. You will direct the preparation and formal execution of contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licences with all relevant parties. You are responsible for leading large teams, driving performance, behaviours, and continuous improvement to achieve organisational KPIs. You will oversee valuation measurement to ensure effective cost control, forecasting, and accurate commercial reporting, and you are responsible for directing the production and client presentation of monthly post-contract cost reports. Your responsibilities include proactively identifying cost impacts arising from design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client-driven requirements. You will oversee the evaluation of contractor and subcontractor claims related to delays and additional costs, and you are responsible for directing the issuance of practical completion certificates and advising on making-good-defects and final completion requirements. In this role you will lead Cost Consultants in enhancing cost management procedures, tools, and templates, driving best practice, continuous improvement, and supporting net-zero carbon objectives.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Direct preparation and formal execution of contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licences with all relevant parties
- Lead large teams, driving performance, behaviours, and continuous improvement to achieve organisational KPIs
- Oversee valuation measurement to ensure effective cost control, forecasting, and accurate commercial reporting
- Direct production and client presentation of monthly post-contract cost reports

Experience & skills
- Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or an equivalent field, forming the technical foundation needed to manage commercial functions on a major mixed-use development
- Hold professional membership such as MRICS or RICS, or an equivalent body, and be working towards fellowship level, or otherwise show demonstrable professional or personal development in the commercial management field
- Bring 10 to 15 years of experience across GCC construction projects, reflecting the seniority and regional familiarity required to lead commercial functions on a programme of this scale
- Demonstrate a strong focus on having managed the full commercial lifecycle of major developments, spanning procurement, contract award, project delivery, and final accounts, rather than experience limited to a single phase of a project
- Bring experience specifically in mixed-use, sports, entertainment, arts, or comparable large-scale infrastructure programmes, given the nature of this project
- Show a preference for a background with a Tier 1 contractor, since the role calls for exposure to large, complex contracting environments and the commercial discipline these organisations typically instil
- Demonstrate strong FIDIC contract administration experience, including hands-on management of variations, claims, and the broader commercial process throughout a project's lifecycle
- Show experience directing and reviewing valuation measurement, cost forecasting, and monthly post-contract cost reporting at a level suitable for client presentation
- Demonstrate experience evaluating contractor and subcontractor claims relating to delay and additional cost, since this is a recurring commercial responsibility on major programmes
- Show experience leading or mentoring cost consultants and commercial teams, given the role's requirement to lead large teams and drive performance against organisational KPIs
- Bring an interest in or exposure to net-zero carbon objectives within cost management practice, reflecting Mace's stated commitment to sustainable outcomes on its projects
