Job description
The Trade Services Specialist (Outsource) at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) plays a key role in executing and managing end-to-end trade finance transactions within the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) framework. This role ensures compliance with both international trade standards (UCP, URC, URR, ISP, ISBP, URDG) and ADIBās internal policies while providing exceptional front-line support to business banking customers. The incumbent acts as a vital link between relationship managers, internal departments, and clients, ensuring accuracy, risk control, and timely processing of trade-related documentation. The position also involves providing advisory support, mitigating risk, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling GTB products to corporate and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities
- Execute and monitor trade finance transactions including letters of credit, collections, and guarantees in compliance with UCP, URC, URR, ISP, and URDG regulations
- Review and verify trade documents, ensuring they meet international standards and ADIBās internal policies
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with documentary trade transactions, ensuring compliance with AML and operational risk frameworks
- Serve as the primary contact for customers to address inquiries and provide advisory support on trade-related matters
- Coordinate with internal departments including CAD, Legal, Sharia, Operations, Treasury, and Compliance to facilitate seamless transaction processing
- Perform signature verification and ensure accuracy of all customer instructions as per ADIB procedures
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and escalations in a timely and professional manner
- Provide insights and recommendations to GTB Sales and Product teams for structuring trade facilities aligned with client requirements
- Generate accurate MIS reports and performance metrics on a weekly and monthly basis
- Support GTB product teams in reviewing and testing newly developed trade and cash management solutions
- Promote ADIBās trade finance offerings through proactive cross-selling and relationship management
- Ensure timely delivery of trade documents and adherence to established turnaround times (TAT)
- Assist the line manager in monitoring portfolio-level risks and ensuring adherence to all trade policy deferrals and approvals
- Maintain confidentiality of client and transaction data at all times
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in trade finance, preferably within a banking or financial institution
- Professional certifications such as CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) or CITF (Certificate in International Trade and Finance) are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of trade finance instruments and processes including LC, LG, documentary collections, and financing
- Knowledge of Islamic Trade Finance principles and products is an advantage
- Familiarity with UAE trade market dynamics and corporate client landscape
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying international trade rules (UCP, URC, URR, ISP, ISBP, URDG)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and provide high-quality customer service
- Competence in preparing reports, analyzing data, and using banking systems for trade processing
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of handling high transaction volumes under pressure
