Job description
The Maintenance Planning Manager (Refinery) is responsible for leading and coordinating all planning and scheduling activities related to routine maintenance across refinery operational areas in Jubail. The role oversees preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance planning while ensuring optimal resource utilization and alignment with operational objectives. The incumbent leads the contractor’s maintenance planning section, manages long-term maintenance plans, monitors KPIs, controls maintenance budgets, and ensures effective use of CMMS systems for data-driven decision-making. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in refinery maintenance, and the ability to deliver results in a multicultural industrial environment.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all maintenance planning and scheduling activities for refinery operations
- Prepare and manage long-term maintenance plans covering preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance
- Supervise contractor maintenance planning teams and provide technical guidance and solutions
- Utilize CMMS systems effectively to monitor maintenance data and support management decision-making
- Optimize manpower and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency
- Provide inputs for maintenance budget preparation and review actual versus budgeted expenditure
- Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs and recommend corrective actions where necessary
- Prepare monthly maintenance reports and present updates in departmental meetings
- Coordinate with operations, services, and maintenance departments on planning-related matters
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and training
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in refinery maintenance planning
- Proven leadership and supervision experience in refinery maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance practices
- Experience in CMMS systems and maintenance performance monitoring
- Strong budgeting, cost control, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure and resolve complex operational issues
- Capability to deliver business results within a multicultural environment
