Job description
The Lead - Decontamination at Kingās College Hospital London ā Dubai is responsible for overseeing all decontamination services across the hospital to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance. This strategic role includes developing and managing decontamination policies, procedures, and quality management systems in line with UAE healthcare regulations (DHA, DOH) and international standards such as JCIA. The position requires providing professional leadership for sterilization services used by various departments, including theatres, dental, endoscopy, interventional radiology, and laboratories. The role ensures continuous service improvement, effective risk management, and training programs to maintain safety and accreditation compliance. The role also involves liaising with external bodies, managing audit and performance monitoring, and delivering services aligned with best practices and infection prevention goals.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all decontamination services ensuring compliance with DHA, DOH, and JCIA standards
- Develop and implement decontamination policies and quality management systems
- Ensure staff are appropriately trained and competent in decontamination procedures
- Oversee quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance for all reusable medical devices
- Provide expert guidance on infection control, sterilization, and equipment decontamination across departments
- Monitor and report performance data to Infection Prevention and Control Committees and external regulators
- Ensure efficient financial management and resource planning for decontamination services
- Develop and implement testing and validation procedures for decontamination equipment
- Create training materials and deliver training on decontamination protocols to clinical staff
- Liaise with stakeholders across medical, dental, and laboratory departments to ensure service alignment
- Manage audits and contribute to the hospital-wide infection prevention and control plan
- Drive innovation in decontamination technology and process improvements
- Support new projects and infrastructure developments by providing technical decontamination specifications
Experience & skills
- Masters Level or relevant professional qualification preferred
- DHA licensed or eligible; DOH/MOH license
- Specialist training in equipment decontamination
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a relevant service environment
- Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Problem-solving skills for handling operational issues and risks
- Strong leadership and influencing capabilities
- Familiarity with infection prevention and control regulations
- Understanding of clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks
