Job description

The Senior Protection Testing Engineer role within Siemens Smart Infrastructure Customer Service division in Saudi Arabia focuses on testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical protection systems and switchgear within medium voltage (MV), low voltage (LV), and high voltage (HV) electrical networks. The role involves working with Siemens SIPROTEC 5 and SIPROTEC 4 protection relays, Reyrolle systems, and other major vendor relays including ABB, GE, and SEL. The engineer is responsible for testing and maintaining medium voltage and low voltage switchgear systems, including CT (current transformer), VT (voltage transformer), CR tests, and circuit breaker timing tests. The position includes performing advanced protection function testing such as busbar protection, distance protection, line differential protection, and transformer differential protection systems. The Senior Protection Testing Engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, analyzing faults, and identifying root causes of system failures. The role requires strong expertise in protection relay testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power systems within industrial and infrastructure environments. The position contributes to Siemens Smart Infrastructure digital portfolio, enabling intelligent energy systems, buildings, and industrial infrastructure that improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
