Job description
The Executive Manager – AI Engineering at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) within the Group Business Services (GBS) function is responsible for leading enterprise architecture and AI engineering initiatives that support ADCB’s strategy, growth, and digital transformation. The role leads project managers responsible for solution architecture, architecture assessment, impact analysis, research, benchmarking, and technology watch while ensuring adoption of emerging technologies and robust modelling practices. The Executive Manager coordinates business information system structuring, conceptual architecture modelling, and development of technology roadmaps aligned with IT strategy. Responsibilities include cross-layer architecture patterns expertise across process design, business applications, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), information/data modelling, software design, security, and infrastructure to ensure fit-for-purpose architecture. The role manages enterprise architecture governance, develops standards, maintains architecture documentation, provides templates and business service catalogues, and ensures adherence to governance frameworks. The position also protects bank operations against IT risks including unauthorized access, data integrity issues, loss of processing capability, and service degradation, while recommending improvements for continuous improvement and competitive advantage. The Executive Manager leads team performance management, budget planning, financial performance monitoring, and policy improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role drives organizational transformation initiatives, supports banking digital evolution, ensures compliance with architecture frameworks, and leverages certifications including TOGAF, PMP, PRINCE2, and ITIL while applying expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, information security, infrastructure stack, software engineering methodologies, project and programme management, and cross-domain banking operations.

Key responsibilities
- Lead project managers responsible for solution architecture, architecture assessment, impact analysis, research, benchmarking, and technology watch while ensuring adoption of emerging technologies and robust modelling practices
- Coordinate business information system structuring, conceptual architecture modelling, and development of technology roadmaps aligned with IT strategy and enterprise architecture frameworks
- Manage enterprise architecture governance including development of standards, maintenance of architecture documentation, provision of templates, and business service catalogues
- Protect bank operations against IT risks including unauthorized access, data integrity issues, loss of processing capability, and service level degradation while recommending mitigation strategies
- Manage team performance by setting objectives, monitoring performance, providing feedback, developing team capabilities, and ensuring adherence to ADCB people management policies
- Contribute to business area budgeting, monitor financial performance, identify performance gaps, and implement improvement opportunities
- Recommend and implement improvements to departmental policies, procedures, and processes while supporting organizational change initiatives and transformation programmes
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across banking technology teams including process design, business applications, infrastructure, software engineering, and information security
Experience & skills
- Obtain Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent qualification
- Hold The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification or equivalent enterprise architecture certification
- Possess Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification or equivalent
- Hold Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification or equivalent
- Demonstrate expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks, conceptual architecture modelling, and solution architecture
- Demonstrate knowledge of information security, infrastructure stack, software engineering methodologies, and IT strategy
- Possess experience in project and programme management, business process analysis, and cross-domain banking environments
- Demonstrate knowledge of emerging technologies, application architecture, data modelling, and enterprise architecture governance
