Job description
The Project Finance Manager in Finance & Planning will manage governance and financial reporting for technology-related projects across Mashreq Bank. This role involves close collaboration with the Head of Tech, Head of Transformation Office, and project managers. The manager will evaluate financial business cases, handle budget planning and monitoring using Oracle systems, and generate timely financial dashboards for stakeholders. Responsibilities include validating financial data accuracy, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations, coordinating project capitalization and asset recording, and supporting project closures including unused LPO management. The role requires involvement in annual CapEx planning and continuous financial risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have a Masterās in Finance/Accounting or CA/MBA Finance with 5ā8 years of banking experience in tech project financial management, strong analytical and software skills, and effective communication across stakeholders.

Key responsibilities
- Manage project financial reporting of bank-wide tech projects in coordination with the Transformation Office
- Evaluate financial aspects of executive summaries and CapEx proposals ensuring compliance with standards
- Ensure all documentation and approvals are stored in the central project repository
- Create projects and assign budgets in Oracle, and monitor budget usage
- Provide timely financial reports and dashboards to project stakeholders
- Coordinate with Project Managers and relevant departments to ensure timely capitalization and asset recording
- Alert management to cost overruns or underutilized budgets
- Validate financial entries, item codes, and GL usage in Oracle iProcurement
- Ensure proper project closure procedures including LPO and system closures
- Ensure compliance with internal financial and regulatory policies
- Participate in annual CapEx planning with Tech and business leads
Experience & skills
- Masterās in Finance / Accounting or CA / MBA Finance
- 5ā8 years of experience in banking managing tech project financials
- Strong understanding of project and program management
- Experience in technology-related project finance and budgeting
- Proficient in financial software and tools including Oracle systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively
- Fluent in English
