Job description
The IBA Finance Manager at Lockton Insurance Brokers UAE, based in Dubai, leads the IBA Finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate, timely reporting aligned with group standards. The role encompasses oversight of finance operations, including monthly revenue monitoring, ledger-to-ledger reconciliations, ageing balance management, accruals, and audit readiness. It involves strategic financial analysis, process improvements, system transformation projects, and collaboration with cross-functional teams (Digital, Billing, Compliance, CRM). The position requires partnering with insurers to manage escalations, reviewing incentive agreements and TOBAs/SLAs, and mentoring associates to enhance productivity and effectiveness. Strong understanding of insurance finance principles, IFRS standards, and CBUAE regulations is essential. The manager advocates for automation of finance processes, provides high-quality insights for leadership decision-making, and ensures overall operational efficiency and financial accuracy.

Key responsibilities
- Review revenue performance against budget monthly and highlight any discrepancies or losses to management.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure audit readiness, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure timely month-end closing in accordance with IBA procedures and group standards.
- Lead multi-phase ledger-to-ledger reconciliations and monitor overaged balances, coordinating with billing and reconciliation teams to optimize processes.
- Develop and deliver strategic management reports and financial insights to support business decisions and leadership.
- Prepare annual producer targets, monitor performance, and ensure commission payments are aligned with targets.
- Manage end-to-end accruals process, including validation, reporting, and reduction of ageing balances.
- Partner with the Digital team on finance system transformation, including testing, rollout, and post-implementation stabilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and support compliance with TOBAs, SLAs, and other agreements.
- Coach and mentor associates to enhance performance, productivity, and adherence to financial and operational standards.
Experience & skills
- 5–8 years of experience in finance operations within the insurance industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred or in progress.
- Proven experience in ledger reconciliations, accruals, audit preparation, and financial system implementation.
- Strong knowledge of insurance finance principles, IFRS, and CBUAE regulations.
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills, including formula calculations and data analysis.
- Proven leadership abilities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement internal controls and procedures.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and mentor junior associates effectively.
