The Senior Expert, Rewards – Global Total Rewards & Workforce Management is a full-time role within the People & Culture division at Masdar, based at Masdar HQ in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Masdar is a global clean energy investor, developer and operator, advancing renewable energy projects with a global portfolio capacity exceeding 51GW and targeting 100GW by 2030. In this pivotal role, the Senior Reward Expert shapes and drives global total rewards and workforce management strategies, designing and implementing innovative, market-leading compensation frameworks that enhance organizational performance, support strategic business priorities, and ensure compliance with global standards. The role is responsible for developing competitive, equitable, and cost-effective reward structures across all Masdar locations to support talent attraction, retention, and internal equity, while staying ahead of market trends through benchmarking and compensation and benefits surveys. The position leads total reward projects, manages the annual performance rewards cycle including salary reviews, promotions, and bonuses, and develops executive and organizational incentive programs aligned with business performance and shareholder interests. It collaborates with business units on workforce planning and manpower budgeting, monitors manpower utilization, identifies cost optimization opportunities, and partners with Talent Acquisition on compensation benchmarks for recruitment and contract renewals. The role delivers comprehensive analytics and reporting to leadership and shareholders, leveraging advanced data analysis to provide insights on pay equity, workforce cost trends, and reward impact. The position requires 6-8 years of progressive total rewards experience, including compensation and reward management in a global organization, with exposure to GCC and Middle East markets, and preferred credentials such as CCP or CBP certification.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement competitive, equitable, and cost-effective total rewards management strategies and compensation frameworks across all Masdar locations, ensuring alignment with global standards, market benchmarking data, and business priorities to drive talent attraction, retention, and internal equity.
- Lead the design, review, and execution of total reward projects, applying compensation strategy development expertise and compensation and benefits surveys to deliver market-leading methodologies and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage the annual performance rewards management cycle, including salary reviews, promotions, and bonus allocations, developing data-driven proposals for cost allocation and ROI while ensuring alignment with organizational performance and shareholder interests.
- Design, evaluate, and enhance executive and organizational incentive program design initiatives, ensuring competitiveness, fairness, motivational impact, and strategic alignment with financial and operational performance objectives.
- Collaborate with business units on workforce planning and manpower budgeting by forecasting workforce requirements, monitoring manpower utilization, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and recommending budget adjustments aligned with financial and strategic goals.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide market benchmarking and competitive compensation strategy development for new hires and contract renewals, reviewing and approving salary offers to ensure compliance with pay structures, internal equity, and global compensation frameworks.
- Deliver comprehensive HR analytics and reporting to leadership and shareholders, utilizing advanced data analysis and pay equity analysis to provide insights into workforce cost trends, reward impact, and organizational performance, while ensuring strict adherence to compliance, governance standards, and data privacy requirements.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, with a Master’s degree from a top-tier institution or professional certification such as CCP or CBP certification preferred to demonstrate advanced expertise in compensation and benefits management.
- Demonstrate 6-8 years of progressive experience in total rewards management including compensation strategy development, benefits management, and recognition programs, preferably within a global organization operating across multiple jurisdictions.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in compensation and reward management with proven expertise in market benchmarking, compensation and benefits surveys interpretation, incentive program design, and implementation of market-leading methodologies and practices.
- Exhibit strong HR analytics capabilities including advanced data analysis, pay equity analysis, workforce cost trend evaluation, and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategic planning and performance optimization initiatives.
- Show proven experience in workforce planning and manpower budgeting, including forecasting workforce requirements, monitoring manpower utilization, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and aligning workforce strategies with financial and business objectives.
- Demonstrate project management and change management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a multicultural corporate environment and apply strategic planning skills to drive organizational transformation and continuous improvement.
- Display strong business acumen, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills enabling a consultative approach, exposure to Middle East and GCC markets, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively within governance frameworks while supporting leadership and shareholder reporting requirements.
