Job description
The Senior Finance Manager role for the Middle East, Africa & Caspian (MEAC) region at Wood entails financial leadership across a $0.5Bn+ multi-country business within the EMEA Business Group of the Operations BU. Reporting jointly to the MEAC Operational SVP and EMEA Finance VP, this position holds P&L, working capital, and balance sheet accountability. It involves managing financial reporting, forecasting, governance, billing, audits, and team development. The role demands strong business partnering to support decision-making, optimize financial performance, and enhance cost and revenue management. Responsibilities span countries including UAE, Iraq, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Equatorial Guinea, with emphasis on accurate reporting, project accounting, risk mitigation, control adherence, and internal/external audit compliance. Cross-functional collaboration with legal, tax, commercial, operations, and shared services teams is also essential.

Key responsibilities
- Lead financial operations and reporting for MEAC region
- Deliver monthly financial performance reports and variance analysis
- Drive accurate forecasting, budgeting, and rolling forecasts
- Manage monthly billing and compliance with commercial contract terms
- Optimize cash collection and minimize DSO in coordination with project and operational teams
- Recruit, develop, and manage multi-country finance team
- Provide commercial insights to support business decisions and financial targets
- Participate in pre-award and post-award contract analysis and project reviews
- Coordinate with auditors for successful completion of audits
- Implement finance operating model and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Ensure accurate project accounting, provisioning, and compliance with legal, tax, and commercial policies
- Collaborate with corporate departments to support operations and project execution
- Maintain strong HSE focus in leadership engagements
Experience & skills
- Professional accounting qualification
- Minimum of 10 years accounting experience
- Proven expertise in business partnering and commercial finance
- Demonstrated success in team leadership and development
- Strong ERP and IT systems knowledge
- Understanding of Oil & Gas services business and accounting standards
- Ability to influence across multicultural, multi-geographical teams
- Track record of financial control, audit coordination, and operational finance delivery
