Job description
The Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist at M42 in Abu Dhabi is responsible for leading the design, refinement, and execution of advanced laboratory tests, particularly in clinical genomics and HLA molecular diagnostics. This includes tests such as tissue typing, antibody screening, PCR amplification, and sequence-based typing. The role requires maintaining strict compliance with Department of Health (DOH) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, while ensuring high-quality and reliable test results. Responsibilities include troubleshooting complex laboratory data, mentoring junior staff, managing laboratory equipment, and contributing to innovative diagnostic initiatives aligned with precision medicine. The technologist plays a key role in fostering collaboration within clinical and laboratory teams, managing multiple projects, and staying current with emerging trends in clinical genomics. The position supports M42’s mission to deliver cutting-edge, patient-centered healthcare informed by advanced technologies such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Experience & skills
- 5+ years clinical experience in a clinical laboratory since initial professional registration
- BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification with 2+ years training
- Evidence of progressive leadership and management in a clinical lab setting
- Department of Health (DOH) License or Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License
