Job description
The role supports the development of the actuarial function within Cigna Saudi Arabia, a branch of Cigna Worldwide Insurance Company. Responsibilities cover data analytics, reconciliations, and processing; actuarial pricing for the Middle East and Africa region including experience studies, book rate setting, pricing assumptions, methodology updates, and rate reviews; and analytics related to medical cost drivers and trends to enhance actuarial analysis and reporting. The role includes developing, testing, and maintaining pricing and underwriting tools, supporting the monthly financial close, assisting with the reserving process, periodically reviewing key reserve assumptions, and communicating financial result drivers relative to forecasts. Additional duties include supporting regulatory submissions and collaborating closely with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Finance, and the wider Middle East and Africa actuarial team. The position requires an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field, progress toward Associate credentials with actuarial bodies, commitment to pursuing Fellowship qualifications, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and up to three years of work experience. Knowledge of health insurance, clinical coding, reserving methods, and pricing approaches is advantageous. Experience with MS Office and data analytics tools such as R, SQL, or Alteryx is an advantage, and some regional travel may be required.

Key responsibilities
- Perform data analytics, reconciliations, and processing to support actuarial and business requirements
- Conduct actuarial pricing for the Middle East and Africa region including experience studies, setting book rates, updating methodology, and reviewing pricing assumptions and rates
- Support analytics related to medical cost drivers and trends to improve the quality of actuarial analysis and reporting
- Develop, test, and maintain pricing and underwriting tools to support business processes
- Support monthly financial close activities including the reserving process, periodic review of reserve assumptions, and communication of financial result drivers relative to forecast
- Assist in compiling regulatory submissions in accordance with local requirements
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and operational effectiveness
Experience & skills
- Hold an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field
- Show progress towards Associate credentials with IFoA or SOA and demonstrate commitment to pursuing Fellowship qualification
- Possess not more than 3 years of work experience
- Be self-motivated, results driven, and demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Possess strong communication skills with excellent verbal and written English competence
- Have working knowledge of health insurance concepts such as clinical coding, reserving methods, and pricing approaches as an advantage
- Demonstrate experience with MS Office and data analytics tools such as R, SQL, or Alteryx as an advantage
- Be willing to travel regionally as required
