Job description
The Relationship Manager – Trade Working Capital role at First Abu Dhabi Bank focuses on managing and expanding SME and commercial banking relationships within the Dubai market, with a strong emphasis on Trade Working Capital solutions. The role supports the economic growth of SMEs by assessing, structuring, and delivering appropriate financing solutions aligned with FAB’s lending and risk policies. The position is responsible for deepening existing customer relationships, sourcing new business, increasing utilization of approved limits, driving sales volumes, and managing a portfolio of borrowing and non-borrowing clients. The role combines sales execution, credit risk assessment, portfolio risk management, profitability optimization, and regulatory compliance, while coordinating closely with internal credit, product, FX, trade, operations, and risk teams to deliver customer-focused financial solutions.

Key responsibilities
- Increase depth and breadth of relationships with existing SME and commercial banking customers
- Drive sales volumes, market share growth, and utilization of approved credit limits
- Source new business opportunities from prospects, suppliers, buyers, and non-borrowing clients
- Prepare and process credit applications, including financial statement analysis and risk assessment
- Structure and price credit limits in alignment with customer needs and FAB lending policies
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and commercial financing clients
- Monitor portfolio risk, identify early warning signals, and pursue collection of past due loans
- Coordinate with Credit Division, Credit Administration, and approving authorities on credit packages
- Monitor MIS reports for FX and Trade Working Capital revenues and utilizations
- Increase profitability through effective limit utilization and revenue margin enhancement
- Cross-sell banking products by coordinating with product managers and specialists
- Maintain regular client engagement and provide timely updates on new banking products and services
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and Business Banking standards
- Support internal audits, risk management reviews, and respond to audit observations
- Monitor money laundering activities and coordinate remedial actions with management
Experience & skills
- Hold a university degree with MBA, PGDM, or Sales-related certification preferred
- Possess 5–8 years of experience in the banking sector
- Demonstrate at least 4 years of experience in Business Banking roles with increasing responsibilities
- Exhibit mandatory experience in Trade Working Capital
- Demonstrate strong understanding of SME banking products, services, and regulations
- Show experience in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and limit structuring
- Demonstrate proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and manage client portfolios
- Exhibit strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks in banking
