Job description
The Senior Automation Engineer will support delivery of Substation Automation & Control projects within Siemensā Smart Infrastructure division. The role is hands-on and involves configuration, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, relays, and SCADA/HMI networks. The engineer will work with communication protocols, Siemens tools, and perform FAT and SAT with customers, while ensuring seamless integration with utility or industrial control centers. The position requires close collaboration with technical teams and contributes to project documentation, reporting, and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities
- Perform testing activities for Substation Automation Systems including RTU, SCADA/HMI, and communication networks.
- Configure and test systems such as SICAM A8000, SICAM PAS, and SIPROTEC relays.
- Handle Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and support Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with customers and technical teams.
- Work with key communication protocols including IEC 61850, IEC 101/104, Modbus, and others.
- Support project documentation, reporting, and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure seamless data integration and communication with utility or industrial control centers.
- Gain hands-on experience with Siemens tools such as DIGSI, SICAM Device Manager, and SICAM Toolbox.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality automation solutions.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorās degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.
- Over 7 years of relevant work experience in automation, control systems, or power systems.
- Familiarity with protection systems, SCADA, and industrial networking concepts.
- Experience with Siemens tools or similar platforms (DIGSI, WinCC, SICAM).
- In-depth knowledge of communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on engineering aptitude.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Siemens project experience is a plus.
