Job description
The Senior Hook-Up Engineer - Electrical at Subsea7 in Dubai is responsible for supporting and coordinating electrical and instrumentation hook-up activities both onshore and offshore. The role involves overseeing vendors and subcontractors, maintaining client relationships, preparing technical requisitions for materials and equipment, and developing technical scopes of work for subcontracted services. Onshore responsibilities include attending Level 1 risk assessments, reviewing engineering documents such as P&IDs, loop checks, wiring diagrams, technical datasheets, and cable schedules, preparing materials, job cards, and bags & tags, ensuring procedures are implemented, writing interface requests and site queries, and preparing offshore mobilisation of materials and personnel. Offshore responsibilities include supervising electrical and instrumentation installation, ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety and quality standards, reporting safety observations, participating in toolbox talks, offshore surveys, planning updates, material requests, managing technical issues, and submitting redline mark-ups. The position requires strong knowledge of topsides E&I construction activities, technical decision-making, resource forecasting, and proficiency in standard office software.

Key responsibilities
- Support and coordinate electrical and instrumentation hook-up activities onshore and offshore
- Oversee and manage vendors and E&I subcontractors to ensure work delivery according to Subsea7 and client standards
- Develop technical requisitions for materials and equipment required for hook-up activities
- Prepare technical scopes of work for subcontracted services
- Develop job cards, material trackers, tie-in lists, and all activity lists for offshore hook-up campaigns
- Attend Level 1 risk assessments and review engineering documents including P&ID, loop checks, wiring diagrams, technical datasheets, and cable schedules
- Prepare materials, job cards, and bags & tags prior to offshore works
- Ensure applicable procedures such as hook-up execution plan, safety and risk assessment, and installation procedures are implemented
- Write interface requests, requests for information, and site queries to the client
- Prepare offshore mobilisation of material and personnel ensuring safe operations
- Report safety observations, participate in offshore toolbox talks, surveys, and planning updates
- Supervise offshore electrical and instrumentation installation, manage technical issues, and submit redline mark-ups for approval
Experience & skills
- Engineering Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Previous experience in topsides E&I construction activities
- Ability to make technical decisions and manage resources and procurement
- Proficiency with standard office software including MS Office and MS Project
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
