Job description
In this role you will own the shipping stack end to end at Salla, a platform serving over 100,000 merchants, along with the economics underneath it, including courier integrations, routing, cash-on-delivery reconciliation, exceptions, and partner performance. You will also own how far the platform goes past last-mile delivery into inventory placement, warehousing, pick and pack, first-mile pickup, and returns. You will lead a dedicated engineering squad as its one accountable product owner, and you are responsible for what a shipment costs and what the platform keeps on it. Your responsibilities include owning the strategy and roadmap for shipping and fulfillment, prioritized on merchant retention and contribution per shipment rather than feature count. You will decide how each order is routed and priced, including which provider carries it, at what service level, at what cost, and what the merchant pays. You are responsible for raising delivery reliability where it is measurable, covering first-attempt success, service-level accuracy, exception rate, return to origin, and cash-on-delivery reconciliation. You will build the integration layer that makes onboarding a new provider fast and keeps it stable once live, covering status mapping, retries, fallbacks, and monitoring. In this role you will extend the product past last-mile delivery, choosing capabilities based on merchant retention impact rather than integration ease, and you will decide which shipping capability is free and which is paid, defending where that line sits. You will own the metrics with the data team, moving volume between providers when performance data indicates it.
